Ramiro Guillen, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Guillen completed his psychiatric residency at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  During those four years, he had the advantage of working at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, one of the largest and most diverse medical centers in the world. The experience of rotating through seven of the affiliated hospitals enabled him to obtain broad-based training and develop competency in a wide spectrum of treatment modalities in the county, federal, and private nonprofit settings, comprised of multi-ethnic populations from different socioeconomic backgrounds.

Dr. Guillen went on to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Jackson Memorial Medical Center, a program that emphasizes the treatment of patients and families through a continuum of care, based on a developmental perspective combining psychodynamic, psychosocial, biologic, behavioral, and cognitive approaches.

Dr. Guillen held an academic position as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University from 1999 to 2003. He served as Medical Director of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program for United Health Services Hospitals. He has received several distinguished awards from the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Guillen has worked in medicine and health care administration for more than 35 years. He is known as an innovator in the field of health care delivery. His mission is to integrate the mind and body by offering the best-in-class evidence-based clinical care, staying up to date engaging the global scientific community and educating and empowering patients by providing trustworthy information and resources.

With longtime roots in the Valley of the Sun, Dr. Guillen previously served as Chief Medical Officer for Chicanos Por La Causa and Southwest Behavioral & Health Services, where he developed and established the Southwest Autism Center of Excellence, the first of its kind in the state of Arizona, as well as People of Color Network.
