Joe spent most of his career as an in-house attorney at United States Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA where he progressed through a series of positions of increasing responsibility including General Counsel of U.S. Steel Europe and Corporate Secretary and Assistant General Counsel. He is a highly focused innovative legal executive who became the go-to person for complex problems and transactions with special expertise in finance, securities and mergers and acquisitions. Joe’s passion is continuous improvement, and his intensive study and analysis is how he learned to close multi-billion-dollar transactions and settle cases in weeks instead of months.
After watching people in his industry struggle with substance abuse, he wanted to give back to the community by serving on Lifewell’s board. His service experience also stems from serving as President of the Western PA Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and volunteering with vaccine distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic.
